Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri has been a popular Indian actress who has gained recognition for her performance in the films Hum Aapke Haiin Koun and Beta Saajan. She started her career in her twenties. The role she played as Anil Kapoor in the film Tezaab made her hugely well-known. Her subsequent appearance on screen was in Dil with Aamir. As a child, the Mumbai-born dancer began learning at an early stage. When she was still in high school, she tried her hand at acting, but most films she attempted to make failed. Her fame grew and she became one of the top movie actresses. After her marriage the actress took time away from performing before returning. Dixit played an important role in Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit is nominated in 15 Filmfare Awards. Of these she's won eight. The actress was also honoured with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. She is also recognized for her charity work.
